March 2016: Offer 6 month licenses to System Mechanic and System Mechanic Pro.

Hi [FIRST.NAME],

Welcome to the iolo affiliate newsletter for March. In the last edition of the affiliate newsletter we introduced you to an article that was recently featured on iolo.com; "System Mechanic 15 Offers a New Look and Tools for Windows 10".

In this edition of the newsletter we're going to cover the following items:

  1. iolo article; "New System Mechanic 15.5 Offers Enhanced Privacy Protection".

  2. iolo Affiliate Masterclass; "Facebook Ads: Sell Early. Sell Often".

First off, to help you with your promotion for System Mechanic® 15 and System Mechanic 15 Professional®, we've got a deal that your customers will want to see! One of the requests that we often get from our partners [through all sales channels] is that their customers want to access an extended trial of System Mechanic before they pay for a 1, 2 or 3 year license. Due to this demand [from a potentially huge base of users], we're now offering you the ability to offer 6 month versions of System Mechanic® 15 and System Mechanic 15 Professional® for just $14.95 and $19.95 respectively. Add the offers below to your website/bog today; you should see a spike in transaction volume as the price-point is very low for either a one-off PC fix, or a long duration trial of iolo's software!

New System Mechanic 15.5 Offers Enhanced Privacy Protection

Windows 10 users may now surrender far less personal data to Microsoft

As we unpacked in detail here, the launch of Windows® 10 marks the introduction of several data collection and sharing settings that Microsoft insists are necessary for the OS to run as effectively as intended--but that could compromise user privacy. What’s more, all of these services default to ON, and several are rather difficult to fully disable.

However, new features built into the latest version of the optimization solution System Mechanic® are designed to take back much of the privacy control Windows users may have inadvertently forfeited by installing Windows 10.

If you have grown increasingly concerned over the involuntary collection or sharing of your personal information, you will likely find the new Privacy Shield™ suite of tools a valuable addition to new System Mechanic 15.5.

Privacy Shield’s easy-to-use wizard allows you to disable, from one convenient location, Windows 10 services that can share your wi-fi network connections with your contacts as well as collect information regarding your browsing habits, program usage, and more. These include Microsoft Data Collection and Telemetry Services, the Wi-Fi Sense Service, and the SmartScreen Service.

Microsoft Data Collection and Telemetry Services
In Windows 10, Microsoft integrated a service that automatically collects data on user habits, including memory snapshots, app usage, system configuration, and network connection. This service cannot be turned off without modifying the registry if the user did not disable it during install.

Wi-Fi Sense Service
Wi-Fi Sense connects users to wi-fi hotspots that, according to Microsoft, it "knows about through crowdsourcing." In order to work, this service automatically shares your wi-fi network with all Facebook, Outlook.com, and Skype contacts, connecting them with encrypted password access.

Though users must allow network sharing, the idea that every single one of your contacts will have access to your wi-fi network unsettles many people. Moreover, Microsoft stores these encrypted passwords in the Cloud, potentially attracting attacks from hackers and mischief makers tempted to disrupt a giant global entity.

SmartScreen Service
Microsoft’s SmartScreen filter analyzes the websites that you visit and compares these sites to a list of known phishing websites or websites known to carry malware. In addition, it warns you before downloading potentially malicious content from the internet.

In addition to analyzing your browsing habits to check for dangerous sites containing malware, this service collects the data on the sites you visit and sends this information to Microsoft. SmartScreen may also conflict with other internet security software on your PC or embedded in your preferred browser.

To access Privacy Shield in System Mechanic 15.5:

  1. From the System Mechanic main screen, choose Toolbox >> Protect.

  2. Find Privacy Shield in the list and click Start.

  3. Follow the instructions within the wizard to read more about what each

  4. Windows feature does and Disable or re-Enable any ones you wish.
In the case of the SmartScreen Service, you can choose from two Enabled states:

    • an Enabled state that acts automatically so long as you have Admin privileges (Require Admin); or

    • an Enabled state that will first prompt you before taking action, regardless of your Admin status (Prompt me)

  5. When you are finished, click Exit.

iolo Affiliate Masterclass

Facebook Ads: Sell Early. Sell Often.

Perry Marshall, author of; The Definitive Guide to AdWords, The Ultimate Guide to Facebook Advertising and 80/20 Sales and Marketing is undoubtedly one of the key thought leaders in the online advertising world. I have been a subscriber to his newsletters [both free and paid] for quite a while now, and had this pearl of wisdom hit my inbox the other day. [Perry gave me/us permission to reprint the email below in its entirely]. If you're thinking about starting an advertising campaign for iolo, or for that matter any affiliate offer, what are you waiting for...?

Did Ultimate Guide to Facebook Ads help you?

Many entrepreneurs are building start-ups from the ground up. An interesting question I hear is “When should I start advertising?”

Most people wait waaaaaay too late.

Here is my suggestion. Start waaaaaay too early.

Start on day 1.

On your first day, put up a simple web page with a description of what you are trying to do and a form for someone to give you their name and e-mail so you can tell them when you are ready to launch.

Don’t wait.

Each day you work on your start-up, add more to your web page and add ways for people to send friends to your page.

Don’t wait.

Every week or two, mail out to your list of prospects the progress you are making and how the idea is growing. Offer a forum for them to make suggestions.

Don’t wait.

If you are building software and are unfunded, try to release a beta version of some minimal working functionality as soon as possible. Hopefully within two months of starting the business. Release software when it is too early and have people look at it and try to use it. Their feedback is priceless.

Don’t wait.

If you are building software, or any service, try to get someone to pay for it while you are still embarrassed to ask for money. Someone paying for your product or service is the best indication you are not delusional in your start-up idea.

Don’t wait.

If you’ve never failed, you’ve probably never really pushed yourself hard enough.

Fail at something. It is good for the soul.

Don’t wait.
